Past: Two years after Dr. Sloth's very first attempt to take over Neopia was foiled by the Space Faerie and the Grundos have adapted to their new environment with other Neopets, Kawi was born. He lived amongst the Grundos on Neopia's moon, Kreludor. Unlike his parents, who were both orange Grundos, Kawi was a yellow one... and has a little medical condition.
His bizarre personality isolates him from his other peer group, He would wear green the whole day, bury himself in moondust, hug a S750 Kreludan Defender Robot, glob an Alien Aisha, dig a huge whole in his bedroom or anything crazy, yet loved and cared for despite being different among others. On his 6th birthday, he received his first petpet, a Robocrush named RoboChris. It was programmed to be his care giver and guardian. It had also been given a human-like personality that would be compatible with Kawi, as well as installed in its memory banks everything it had to do as Kawi's loyal and faithful friend. Despite the robot petpet's bulky exterior, it can't move all that fast, but Kawi still remains to be dependent on it and sticks by its side. They were really close buds.
At the age of 13, Kawi saw a picture of Mira, the Space Faerie and was mesmerized by her beauty. He kept asking his parents stories about her and instantly grew fond of her. Kawi soon learns about his parents' old home planet, Doran, and tales of Dr. Sloth abducting them from their first home, but didn't pay too much attention. He was only more focused on the Space Faerie, and even the other Faeries, yet he grew up really smart, just like his parents.
When he was an adult however, Kawi asked permission from his parents to travel the world of Neopia and seek adventure from the lands, but due to his condition, he wasn't allowed. He snuck away in an escape pod with his petpet, but badly crashes into the Lost Desert. He then woke up in the arms of another Grundo named Truggdon, one of the Tug-O-War champions of the land, who saved him from the crash. Unfortunately, Kawi lost his memory during the impact, but still remembers his petpet companion, which survived along with him. Truggdon decides to let Kawi and his petpet stay at his place to recover.
Soon, Kawi began living in Sakhmet. Little did anyone know of his condition, though he became very popular among the natives, due to his friendly personality and being the entertainment of the masses as a street clown. He had also earned NPs for his performances. Some would believe he would just be playing around for fun. There would be others who would ridicule him. Sometimes he would ignore it, because he misunderstood them and thought it was just a joke, but when the jokes turn into insults, he either cries to his petpet or his petpet comes to his aid to stop those who make fun of him.
Years later, he became bored of his everyday routine and decided to leave the Lost Desert, as RoboChris continues his duties to monitor and protect him, to travel around the globe, sharing happiness to the rest of the lands.
