Taking Out the Rubbish {CLOSED} (1,164 views)

[Blue]

It was a hot and sunny afternoon at the Meri Acres Farm. It appears to have less than a few farmers in the area today. A farming lot can be seen, filled with colorful and exotic fruits and vegetables that is simply eye-catching. From the distance, it seems like two Neopians are working at that very spot; one was a biscuit Kacheek tilling the soil and planting seeds while a blue Shoyru, wearing a cloak, was soaring across the lot and watering the soil. They've got some teamwork going on and seem to be having fun doing their job... but that's not where the story begins...

A faerie Feepit, carrying a baby Kacheek, landed meters away from that same farming lot and close to the Rubbish Dump, facing the opposite direction to where the two diligent workers are at. "Now where could Azelf be?" the baby Kacheek asked himself, rubbing his chin. "Thanks for carrying me here, Winter." He told his petpet. "Good thing I'm not so heavy, huh?" B chuckled. The Feepit just purred at him. "Okay... What's taking Azelf so long? He should've flew back home by now. We need to find him!"

B started to walk as his petpet floating next to him followed. Suddenly, B stopped right in front of the Rubbish Dump. He saw something move, which caught his attention. "Hmm...?" He pondered for a moment. "C'mon, Winter! Let's check it out!" The Feepit shook his head. "Aww, don't worry! It'll only take a sec." He went deeper into the pile of rubbish. Winter sighed. It had no choice but to follow him. The place seem to be a mountain full of piles of stuff people didn't need anymore. "Wow! It's like a wonderland... of trash!" He said gleefully. "What do you think we can find around here, huh? Some treasure too maybe?" Winter just growled at him. B laughed at him.  "Can't you take a joke?" Winter sticks its tongue at B. The baby Kacheek does the same at Winter.

Suddenly, B heard a shaking noise. "Huh?" He turned around and saw a giant cardboard box that just shook. He took a closer look. "Hello...? Anyone here?"

[Mo]

On a day like this, all Trashy wanted to do was lay in her box, out of the sun, and nap! It was waaay too hot, and there wasn't a cloud to be seen in the sky, so the sun was relentless and shone down on her like a heat lamp. She visited the pond near her homey pile of rubbish a few hours earlier, and a few hours of swimming relieved some of the heat-- but now, dry once more and desperately hiding from the sunlight, she shifted restlessly in her cardboard box. She had originally tried to relax, but there was no resting on a day like this!

... What was that noise?

Perhaps it was because she was so antsy, but... No, she definitely heard something. Outside, in the rubbish. She hoped it was another petpet-- they visited sometimes to nibble at the garbage, but they usually didn't stay long. Still, they made great playmates.
Her curiosity got the better of her, and as she shifted in her box, ready to crawl out, she heard a voice call out to her.

She froze.

It's... A person! Not a petpet! she thought, frantically trying to decide what to do about the sudden intruder. If I jump out, maybe... Maybe I can scare him away...
Bracing herself, the little Aisha suddenly hopped out of the box baring a (what she thought was fearsome) snarl, her tiara lop-sided and her dress disheveled.
"What do YOU want?" She squeaked, trying her hardest to appear bold and intimidating. Only then did she really take in what this explorer looked like-- it was just a Baby Kacheek!
She let her guard down then, but kept her wary eyes on him. "...What are you doing here?" She reiterated, a little less harshly.

[Blue]

To B's surprise, a jelly Aisha popped out from the cardboard box. She seemed to be trying to scare the Kacheek away at first, but he didn't twitch one bit. He noticed her princess dress and tiara, which had struck him somehow. He decided to play along, but he took it sincerely. "Oh wow... a princess!" B concluded excitingly, while his Feepit hid behind him. "Told you we'd find something... or someone cool!" They were of nearly the same height, as B was only a few inches taller than his petpet.

"Good afternoon, your highness!" B exclaimed with a bow, playing as a respectful loyal subject. "We're just exploring around your kingdom and all. Sorry if we disturbed you in any way." He giggled. "I am B, of Maraqua, and this is my trusty Feepit, Winter." He takes a step to the left, revealing the Feepit behind him and gestures over to the petpet. "What's your name?"

[Mo]

Trashy approached the kacheek, just a little, and very slowly. She couldn't trust this stranger, no matter if he was a Baby or not! Babies can eat jelly, and he might try to gobble her up just like an adult would! Sure, she could switch out of her jelly form, but that didn't make it okay to even try eating a princess!

She was mildly taken aback at his reaction to her. I mean, of COURSE she was a princess- that was obvious- but nobody recognized it right away. They just didn't think she was the real deal.
Immediately, her chest swelled and she put on her most prestigious of faces. "Very well, I, Princess Trashy, will permit you to look around my kingdom, but just this once!" She recited, being swayed at the recognition of her royal status. "I'm Treasure," She added, much more bashfully. "You can call me Trashy if you want. What about you?" She almost shyed away, when she saw the Feepit and brightened.

"Oh, you have a petpet, too!" She exclaimed, and strode over to Winter to give her a pat. She then turned towards B, narrowing her eyes at him as she recalled her suspicions. "Wait... How do I know you're not a robber or a bad guy sent here to kidnap me??"

[Blue]

Winter purred after being patted by Trashy. "Oh! N-n-n-no, no!" B shook his head while waving his hands. "Not me, fair lady! Plus, I am but a humble 12 year old, seeking for my little brother..." B hesitated for a moment, realizing what he just said. "W-wait a minute! My brother!" Winter gave him a pout. "Well... I never really ventured through here before..." B curiously looked around. "I like to explore new places! I wish I could enter the Mysterious Symol Hole, but I can't fit there either." He laughed. "And you may call me... uh... B!" He informed Trashy, with a cold sweat. "It... doesn't really mean anything." He gave her a goofy smile.

"So, uhm... princess," B simply wouldn't call her by how she pertained to herself. He wasn't used to the idea calling royalty, as he believed, of that name. "May we continue looking around? I believe my brother might have been enjoying himself with the village folk and lost track of the time. He does know how to get home by himself."

[Mo]

"Hmmm..." She pondered, warily. He looked innocent enough... Well, she supposed she could give him a chance, anyways, since today was so hot and boring and she hadn't had a real playmate in a long time.
"You've never been here before?" Trashy said, her excitement growing like a bud. She caught herself, and pretended once more to be uppity and aloof. "Well, it's the most fanciest and interesting kingdom there is, even more than Meridell," she boasted. "All sorts of cool stuff goes in this big pile."
She let herself smile, just a little bit. "It's okay if if doesn't mean anything," she commented, "that's a good name, anyways. I mean, it's okay..."

Trashy blushed a little, subconsciously, at being called "Princess." It felt much nicer when someone else said it.
She snapped to attention, though, at the mention of a missing brother.
"You want me to help find your brother?" She was a little startled, not having explored beyond the Dump in a while, and never with a companion. "Well... I guess I'll look around with you."
She let out what she intended to be a whistle but ended up just being a sad, spitting noise. She frowned in disdain, adjusted her tiara, and instead called out, "Mr. Poor! Where'd you go?"
Suddenly, a Naalala bounced up from behind a rock, chewing on a tin can. "B, this is my royal subject, Mr. Poor," She introduced the Naalala while picking out bits of burrs and other little, sticky things that were caught in his fur. "He's pretty messy, though."

[Blue]

"Aww!" B smiled, touched. "That's okay! Glad to meet you, Mr. Poor!" He had no choice. It was its name. The Kacheek bent over to the Naalala and petted its head. "Wanna meet my Feepit?" Winter slowly approached the newly introduced petpet. "Now don't be shy, Winter. Go on! Be buds!" B encouraged. Winter, on the other hand, kept itself alert and suspicious, staring at Mr. Poor intensively.

"Alright!" B returns back to Trashy's question. "Really, your highness? You would do that?" He asked calmly. He suddenly got excited, for sure someone would accompany him other than his petpet. And he hasn't had much friends in a while. "That would be a splendid idea!" He leaped for joy. "Yes, I wanna see more of your kingdom too, please." The Kacheek grinned. "It could be fun! And I'll be your knight, in case of any danger up ahead." He made his posture as if he were a knight. "Which way do we begin our quest, fair lady?"

[Mo]

The Naalala stared with his goat eyes, letting out a little bleat between munches on the tin can he found. When presented with the Feepit, he just shifted his focus to the petpet and stared, as well. He didn't seem to be the brightest of the bunch.
Trashy noticed, and said "Mr. Poor is friendly but he's not too smart. All he really does is eat, but he's a good cuddler." She blushed a little, as if she didn't mean to reveal that piece of information.

Straightening up, Trashy adjusted her tiara and reminded herself that she was a princess. "Yes, we will travel my kingdom and look for your brother." She was excited about exploring with this Kacheek, and although she scolded herself for it, she didn't want to be wary of him-- she wanted to just have fun, with someone, for once. Hopefully, he didn't like to eat jelly!
At the mention of being a knight, Trashy brightened visibly. She took her kingdom seriously, and with a knight, it would be even more like a real one!
"Okay, if you want to be a knight, then I hereby officially appoint you... Sir B of the Rubbish Dump!" She announced proudly, looking very pleased with herself.
"Hm, maybe we can go over to the pond. It's pretty close..." She mentioned, looking up at the sky. "And it's hot today."

[Blue]

B shifted into a proud stance after he was "dubbed" by Trashy. He sure takes his role very seriously. Not one time he bothered to ask if she was really living here or is lost, or where her other friends are. He didn't want to spoil the fun with emotional back stories or anything sad. He just wanted her to have a companion, as his senses is telling him that she doesn't have anyone to play with around these parts, with the exception of her petpet of course. "Yes, this weather is intense. Hope my brother's doing fine." B gazed at the sky as well. "Maybe a refreshing drink will cool us off."

Winter raised an eyebrow as it watched the Naalala nibble on the tin can. The Feepit tried to get closer, and at the same time its stomach rumbled loudly. "And it looks like someone's hungry!" B noticed, singing that last sentence. Winter just stared at him with an annoyed look on its face.

"Best be on our way!" B laughed, marching to the left, but immediately marched right back to where they were last standing. "Oh, uhm... princess?" He giggled anxiously. "You may lead the way." He blushed in embarrassment.

[Mo]

Trashy smiled, pleased with herself and the fact that her first official Knight seemed to truly appreciate his role. "You gotta make sure to protect me from any big scary monsters, 'cause that's what knights do." She announced the obvious, more for herself to hear than B. She loved her princess stories.
It was because of the Kacheek's understanding that she allowed herself to have fun with him.
"I went swimming in the morning, and it felt really good," she mentioned as she gazed towards the small pool that was just a few minutes' walk away. "And I'm getting thirsty anyways."

She smiled at the Feepit, and laughed. "All Mr. Poor eats is garbage," she giggled, "so we'll have to look for some real food for Winter."
At that, she nodded and said, "Oh, right!" She faced the pond, but before she took off, she saw a rare opportunity.
"Since I have to make sure that you're a real proper knight and all... I'll race you!" She exclaimed, and at once started running to the little pool of water, dress, tiara, and all.

B, Winter and Mr. Poor stood still surprisingly as they watched Trashy went dashing away. "Princess!" B cried out worryingly. They just continued to watch. B shook his head slowly, with a smirk on his face. "She's a feisty one, isn't she?" He told the Naalala. "Hoho! I accept this challenge!" B laughed arrogantly. The baby Kacheek began warming up, and then went on ahead, leaving the two petpets behind. "Hurry up, Winter!" B shouted from the distance. "You too, Mr. Poor!"

The two Neopets were seen running, getting closer towards the pond, as the two petpets tried to catch up behind them. Winter was flying, so he was like in 3rd place. They were having the time of their lives. Oh and it appears that the blue Shoyru, from awhile earlier, is seen cooling off by the river behind the rubbish dump. He is eating a shishkafruit with the same biscuit Kacheek he was with. They seem to be having some deep conversation at the moment. Nonetheless, B was enjoying his playtime with Trashy.

B isn't just any baby Kacheek, he's a lean mean fighting machine... well, he's good at battling in other words. No sir, he is fit for the job. He's also gaining on Trashy too. She looks so happy! B thought to himself as he ran, overjoyed by having to meet a new friend.

When B reached to her and of the same speed, he waved to her. "Hi there, princess!" He laughed. "You're pretty fast!" 

[Mo]

Trashy ran with her all, despite being slowed by her hindering outfit. She grinned, breathless, as she heard B running behind her. She wasn't doing bad at all with her head start, but she made the mistake of looking backwards (she saw all three of the others chasing after her, though Mr. Poor stopped along the way to eat a weed in the ground) and it slowed her down to B's pace. "You... too!" She gasped, savoring the air that she took in. She hadn't run this fast in a long time, and she didn't seem to be in the best shape.

It didn't take long for the bunch to reach the pool of water, since it was very close to their starting point. B finished before her, being obviously faster (though Trashy suspected he went easy on her). Breathing heavily from the sprint, Trashy went up to the water and took a big sip before squeaking out, "You passed your test... You are really a real, true knight now," she said as though it was no big deal. On the inside, she knew it was a huge deal. The first knight in her prestigious kingdom! "You should be proud," she added, setting her tiara down next to her so it didn't fall into the water. "You need some armor, though. Real knights need armor so they don't get hurt," she mused, "like the ones in Meridell."

[Blue]

"It is an honor to serve you, your highness!" B genuflected with grace. He then inspected the water before taking a sip, seeing his reflection in the water. "Oh yes! We must go seek aid from the blacksmith--!" Winter uninterruptedly flew right next to him, poking B on the shoulder. "Oh, what's that, Winter?" The Feepit rubbed its belly. "Aww, you're still hungry." B patted it on the head. "Don't worry, we'll find something for you to eat, okay? Just be patient."

The Kacheek called to Trashy's attention. "Uhm, princess?" He fidgeted his paws. "May I ask permission that we find food for my trusty steed?" Winter puts on a puzzled face, with a hint of annoyance, being called "steed". B giggled. "I'm just kidding, Winter!" He hugged his petpet. "I know you're not!" Winter just pouts at him, but on the inside the Feepit does care for him and his jokes. B's gaze turned back to Trashy. "So, may we? Before scavenging for armor? If that's alright with you." He smiled. "He's not going to get any fatter." He added humorously.

Trashy gave B a big smile, feeling at her highest spirits after their race, the water, and her new friend. She giggled a little as the Feepit begged B for food, then became offended when he called the petpet a "steed."
"Of course, we can," She said happily. After a moment of thought, her face fell a little. She lived in the dump, after all; she didn't have any real food to offer. "You... Might want to go into town for real food, though," She seemed embarrassed. "Or the Farmers. I hear they're nice."
She looked into the pond, worried that if she make eye contact he'd catch on to her embarrassment.

[Blue]

"Hmm...?" B tilted his head, wondering why Trashy began staring into the pond. The baby Kacheek seemed curious with what was going on in the Aisha's mind, but he seemed to understand. After all, he's aware of where they are. He just didn't want to put so much emphasis on it, knowing that it's too obvious. "The farmers?" B glanced at in the distance. All he saw was nothing but a huge farming lot paved with beautiful and warm-colored crops as far as his eyes can see. "Must be the hot weather today..." B placed his hands on his hips. "I don't see anyone out there." Looks like B's full attention went to the farm, instead of the two Neopets at the river. Of course, from his perspective, the dump was covering the view to where the two are at.

B got his attention back to Trashy and began to feel great empathy for her. How could she have survived here all alone? And where could her parents or relatives be? This was something someone like B wouldn't just ignore, but for the sake of not making her sad, he'll just have to help out as much as he can instead. The Kacheek tapped his feet. "I suppose we can... uhm..." He thought hard, then saw a house nearby. "Oh look! Maybe there are people in there! We can also ask them if they have any extra food to share... I guess..." He paused. "Care to join me, your highness?" B sensed that Trashy felt too anxious to do so. "Don't worry, I'll protect you..." He extended his paw forward to her.
