Personal Info!
Personality: Darigan has an obscure sense of justice that is mistaken for vengeance. He would do anything for his people, even at the cost of obliterating an entire civilization. He's extremely protective and self-sacrificing, but has mean-streak and a violent temper. He lacks a sense of humor which makes him appear cold and distant, even though that couldn't be further from the truth.
Past: Darigan was once a simple scholar for the Citadel; a member of the council, and a teacher of magic and alchemy. He grew up in a world that knew nothing of war or poverty. That is, until They came, and They stole the magical orb that protected the Citadel from corruption. Within a year the shadows came, tainting the Citadel and twisting its citizens into mutated husks of their former selves. Darigan's skin began to rot and deteriorate before his very eyes. He spent days locked in his room slowly going mad, clawing off fist-fulls of his flesh as he lay on the floor in the fetal position. The shadows whispered to him, taunted him, until he had only two choices; he could either give in to the darkness, or die. And so he relinquished himself to the darkness; his once beautiful blue eyes turned a sickly red hue. But he was alive, and that's what mattered; he was alive and he could seek vengeance on the thieves that wronged not only himself, but his entire race. His people seemed content to suffer for eternity, but he convinced them to fight, and under his name an army was born. His soldiers took back the orb that rightfully belonged to the Citadel, but it didn't grant them the peace they hoped it would. Angry and bitter at the world, Darigan took the orb and absorbed its powers, vowing to make the entire world suffer as he had. Fortunately he was stopped by an alliance of the Citadel and the kingdom they'd declared war on. He was cast away and left to scavenge for himself. Meanwhile on the Citadel, Kass took over command. Kass' reign was as corrupt as Darigan's, but Darigan didn't interfere until Kass' soldier began killing innocent civilians. Darigan and Kass fought each other in a raging battle, with Darigan the victor. Most of his people were eager to serve their rightful leader again, and so Darigan took his place as the Lord of the Citadel.
Plus: Darigan has control of Shadow and Force magic; he can manipulate vines of shadow magic, as well as create spheres of unstable energy that explode out from around him.
Minus: He's extremely vulnerable to Light magic and any kind of telepathic manipulation.
