London is a city where old and new coexist in perfect harmony and proof of this are the large skyscrapers that adorn the landscape of the English capital. Far beyond the secular buildings, the city has a skyline full of very tall buildings, housing commercial, residential and even leisure options. Below we will take you to the heights and tell you which are the 5 tallest buildings in London and what you can find in each of them. 1º – THE SHARD With the title of the tallest building not only in London, but also in all of Western Europe, The Shard was erected on the British landscape in 2013. With almost 310 meters high, or 309.6, to be more exact, and 95 floors, it houses a hotel, residences, offices, bars and restaurants, as well as “The View From The Shard” space, which offers an incredible view across 360º of the English capital. 2º – 22 BISHOPSGATE One of London's newest skyscrapers, 22 Bishopsgate was completed in 2020, measuring 278 meters high and with 62 floors. Our students won their places in this virtual exchange with undergraduate students in New York, after sending videos telling how they could contribute to the objectives of the project, which aims to discuss global social problems, problems in education, the impact of social and racial inequality, as well as how to design an initiative that involves social justice and culture 110 Bishopsgate, and by Salesforce Tower, in reference to the name of the company that occupies most of its rooms. Dedicated to commercial purposes, its 230 meters high hold charms beyond business, such as good restaurants and the largest private aquarium in Europe, which is at its entrance. Not all the buildings you saw are among the most famous and touristy, but they certainly don't go unnoticed in the London landscape.
